These fine folks backpacked 30 gallons of water into Stoppel Point, as well as food and first aid supplies (much needed this year). It takes hikers over two hours to access this spot, 4.5 miles from the finish line.
Editor's note: There is no truth to the rumor that this aid station also had suicide capsules available. Dick Vincent, race director, says, "We make it absolutely clear that runners are expected to haul their own carcasses to the finish line. There are some things you just can't ask volunteers to do."
